Manager of Recovery Inventory and Vendor Management

Position Summary:

As a Manager of Recovery Inventory, you will be responsible for all charged off, pending bankruptcy, and bankrupt inventory. Works with the Recovery, Legal, and Bankruptcy Manager(s) and staff to facilitate the recovery and bankruptcy strategy and provide inventory management and controls in that effort, as directed by the Senor Director of Recovery and Chief Servicing Officer. Responsibilities also include the management and performance of any recovery, legal, or bankruptcy vendor(s) by monitoring and evaluating work performance and productivity through reports, reviews, and audits. Duties will include providing assistance by answering questions and problem solving, analyzing work methods to improve staff effectiveness and maximize utilization, effectively communicating with the management team to reach departmental and corporate goals, complying with corporate policy, upholding federal and state regulations, and providing leadership in a dynamic environment:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages the recovery and bankruptcy inventory along with any bankruptcy, collection, and legal vendors.
  • Manages inventory and vendors to execute the strategy and properly identify and distribute accounts based on account status and treatment strategy, terms of consent judgments, bankruptcy plans, motions, and other adversary proceedings.
  • Support the Bankruptcy and Recovery Departments in establishing and achieving objectives.
  • Conduct meetings with other Managers and team members to develop long term and short-term departmental objectives.
  • Develop and implement reporting mechanisms to keep senior management apprised of performance levels, developing trends, and work loads of vendors and internal recovery efforts.
  • Primarily responsible for ensuring the Recovery/Bankruptcy Department’s inventory is correctly deployed, supporting the efforts of recovery and bankruptcy operations to achieve performance objectives, complying with corporate policy, and upholding federal and state regulations.
  • Develop and execute inventory management performance plans to lead and manage vendors in ongoing recovery and bankruptcy operations.
  • Establish, monitor, and report performance and operational metrics with regards to both third party vendors and internal collections group.
  • Set and communicate business goals and expectations with third party vendors.
  • Ensure periodic audits, reviews, and remediation of third-party vendors are completed to ensure contractual compliance.
  • Establish compliance policies for third party vendors that ensure compliance to policies and procedures are met.
  • Maintain a cost-effective third-party vendor placement strategy.
  • Create and provide reports and projections.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Bankruptcy management, complemented by at least 5 years of professional experience within a Retail Lending environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management, supervisory and collection experience required.

Education:

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent work experience required.

Skills Required:

  • Requires competent knowledge of bankruptcy laws and state regulations. This knowledge is normally acquired through experience and on the job training. Must have an understanding in the practical application of these laws and regulations necessary to communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Requires basic computer skills as well as knowledge of MS-Excel, MS-Word and MS-Access.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to communicate, guide, teach, train and motivate direct reports.
  • Has knowledge of skip tracing, collections, FDCPA and state collection laws.

  • Travel 0-10% - as required on an as needed basis.
  • Must have reliable transportation and live within a commutable distance to one of the following cities: Atlanta, GA

Qualifications Preferred:

  • 10 years experience in an outward facing consumer financial services role
  • 5 years experience with SFTP file transfer
  • 5 years experience in inventory management, vendor audit, account reconciliation, and account workflow management

Work Schedule This position requires the ability to work various shifts to accommodate business needs. Typically, between the hours of 8AM-6PM Monday through Friday and on weekends as needed. Travel is possible up to 10% of the time.
