Post Charge Off - Repossession Team Manager

Position Summary:

The primary duties of the Team Manager is leading the post-charge off repossession team, driving strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, and continuously evaluating process effectiveness. This role requires the development and execution of business strategies that align with corporate standards and ensure full compliance with federal and state regulations. Success in this position demands a strategic mindset, a strong commitment to process improvement, and a comprehensive understanding of the legal and regulatory landscape to uphold the highest standards of compliance and ethical conduct.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Digital teams to automate processes and ensure regulatory adherence.
  • Oversee vendor management for repossession operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
  • Communicate and implement regulatory updates across all repossession workflows.
  • Lead strategic initiatives to optimize cross-channel operations and business processes.
  • Facilitate goal setting and performance planning to drive departmental growth.
  • Provide training and support, resolving escalations, and guiding daily team operations.
  • Develop reporting protocols to inform senior leadership on performance and workload trends.
  • Manage end-to-end repossession processes, ensuring legal compliance and secure handling of consumer data.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support departmental and organizational goals.

Required Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in auto repossession, collections, or remarketing, with prior call center exposure preferred
  • 2+ years in a supervisory or team lead role, overseeing operations and team performance

Education:

High School Diploma and/or GED.

Skills Required:

  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret written materials, including instructions, correspondence, and memos, with clarity and accuracy.
  • Proficient in composing clear and concise written communications.
  • Strong numerical aptitude, including the ability to perform basic arithmetic operations—addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division—using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Capable of applying sound judgment to execute detailed, routine instructions delivered in written or verbal form.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word is essential for daily operations.
  • Thorough understanding and adherence to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), as well as applicable to local, state, and federal collection regulations.

Additional Requirements:

  • Overtime required – required on an as needed basis.
  • Travel 0-10% - as required on an as needed basis.
  • Must have reliable transportation and live within a commutable distance to one of the following cities: Dallas, TX (Hybrid)

Work Schedule This position requires the ability to work various shifts to accommodate business needs. Typically, between the hours of 8AM-6PM Monday through Friday and on weekends as needed. Travel is required 10% of the time.
